Standards / Ethics

The NIS organisation is defined by the manner in which it delivers it's services. Our code of ethics describes the principles by which we commit to maintain high ethical standards, and to behave with integrity, to ensure we create and sustain stakeholder confidence.

This code of ethics and principles describes the philosophy which underpins our activities and our commitment to our stakeholders.

Code of Ethics and principles

  • To maintain a healthy and safe workplace with safe systems and methods of work and ensure the safety of our employees, clients and the community.
  • To provide a positive contribution to the physical and social environments we operate in.
  • To conduct our business activities in a professional and ethical manner
  • To comply with the law in whichever country we operate and be sensitive to local customs and traditions.
  • To engage positively with our stakeholders and to provide information in an open and honest manner.

Customers

  • To deliver excellent competitive quality products and services that meet or exceed technical specifications.
  • To gain a thorough knowledge of our customer’s needs in order to ensure we deliver a satisfactory outcome.
  • To operate in good faith in all agreements, providing competitive price while fulfilling our contract commitments.
  • To create, grow and strengthen strong, long lasting, relationships with our customers.

Employees

  • To maintain a safe, healthy, thought provoking, fulfilling and fair work environment for all our employees.
  • To recognise all employees as individuals.
  • To provide strong and visible leadership at all levels, ensuring our communications are inclusive and that all accountabilities are upheld.
  • To improve and maximise the talents and skills of all our employees through effective selection, training, mentoring and development.

Shareholders

  • To take business decisions with the objective of increasing long term shareholder value.

Suppliers

  • To develop and maintain mutually beneficial, long lasting, relationships with our suppliers so that NIS can, in turn, meet our customer requirements.
  • To commit to the prompt settlement of all due accounts and acknowledge our suppliers right to make a fair profit on a fair supply.
  • To resolve account difficulties in an expedient, fair and reasonable manner.
  • To work with those suppliers that have business principles similar to our own.
  • To engage with suppliers who are pro-active in developing supply chain efficiency for the benefit of all parts of the supply chain.

The Community

  • To endeavour to contribute to the enhancement and safety of the communities in which we work and operate.
  • To continuously improve our performance in protecting and preserving the environment.

Other

  • To implement and deliver an inclusive Corporate Social Responsibility programme that maximises benefits for all our stakeholders.
  • To endeavour to achieve recognised accreditation in all areas of excellence.
