Facilities / Premises

NIS has been located at Chorley for over 25 years and developed its premises over time to accommodate the markets continuously changing requirements. The premises are situated between two major motorways the M6 and M61 which provide easy access from North and South.

The NIS premises provide a 3500m² production workshop for the manufacturing, testing and development of special purpose plant and equipment for high technology industries. There are three overhead cranes that span the workshop floor with a SWL of 10 tonne each, and a hoist height of 5.4 meters.
A separate 750m², 17m tall high bay, serviced by a 10 tonne crane with an under the hook height of 14.5 meters was constructed in 1997 adjoining the main workshop. This allows the construction, testing and development of large projects away from the main workshop.
In addition to the high bay we have a 65m², 20m tall test tower, with a 5 tonne crane and an under the hook height of 17m.
Within the main workshop we have a 250m² semi-clean room, allowing the assembly, test or development of products in a clean environment. This facility has been used for medical production equipment testing, clean assembly of integrated glovebox systems incorporating complex instrumentation with associated electronics packages and a number of other applications.

NIS also has a production facility in China which enables the import and export of our services, allowing both NIS Ltd and our global client base the advantages afforded by this economic giant.
To complement our design and manufacturing facilities at our head quarters in Chorley, and to support our valued clients, we also have offices in two other locations in the UK; at the Westlakes science and technology park in West Cumbria, and Calleva Park in Berkshire.
