Facilities / Testing

NIS has purpose built test facilities to carry out research and development testing. Test work can be used to either prove a finished product or process to determine data for inclusion in the final design / specification.

Alongside our test facility NIS are able to carryout standard production tests on welded fabrications using destructive and non Destructive test regimes to a variety of standards;

  • BS (British Standards) EN ISO 15614
  • ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) 1X
  • PCN (Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing) Level 2

















In house methods are:

  • DPI (Dye-Penetrant Inspection)
  • MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection)
  • Visual Inspection
  • Eddy Current Testing
  • In House radiography interpretation

We are also able to carryout a number of other standard tests including;

  • Dimensional
  • Load Testing
  • Pressure Testing
    - Hydraulic
    - Pneumatic
    - Vacuum
    - Helium Leak Testing
