New 3D design animations piloted at All-Energy show!
NIS were showing off a new wave of cutting edge technology for design visualisation and simulation at this years' All-Energy exhibition in Aberdeen.
A brand new video presentation, including animations of several 3D models that NIS' design team has produced, was shown on the main LCD screen; whilst a set of Apple iPads allowed the demonstration of interactive operations and maintenance manuals, which can be used for process plant and production engineering.

The video also included an overview of NIS' facilities in Chorley, where both the design centre and workshop are located, and should be available to view on the website soon - check back on the homepage regularly for updates.
Along with the technology demo, the exhibitors for NIS also ran a competition for visitors to search for a hidden object in an X-ray image taken from one of the scanners that NIS designs and builds for the security market.
The two day event was the biggest ever with 580 exhibitors and attended by over 8,000 visitors from 50 different countries. Already well-established suppliers to the nuclear industry, NIS are looking to expand within the energy market and capture some of the new opportunities presented by emerging segments. The show proved to be a very useful business development exercise and contact was made with several potential customers for bespoke engineering, remote handling and automation services.
NIS will be displaying examples of the company's design and manufacture capability at other trade fairs throughout the year. You can keep up to date with upcoming events on our events page.
