Supporting local charity...

One of NIS’ favoured local charities, Derian House, have expressed their thanks for money donated this Christmas, as a result of the work done by the company throughout 2011 to support their worthy cause. NIS were delighted to be able to donate a total of over £1400 to the organisation from money collected at the end of 2011, in addition to the volunteering work undertaken earlier in the year.

NIS sold raffle tickets for several weeks, with the final prizes being handed out at funfair themed event in December, celebrating the opening of a new building at NIS’ facility in Chorley. With the event open to employees and their families, group photographs were made available for purchase on the night, with all proceeds going to the charity as well. Over £600 was raised via these donations, plus £75 worth of vouchers from the raffle prizes which were very kindly returned by two NIS employees. A further £240 was also raised from NIS’ sale of Christmas cards and a selection of other gifts from Derian House’s Christmas catalogue.

In keeping with the commitments made within the NIS Corporate Social Responsibility plan, once again the company has donated the money historically spent on corporate Christmas cards and gifts for clients to our chosen worthwhile causes. Therefore an extra £500 was given to Derian House along with £250 each for Naomi House in Berkshire and West Cumbria Hospice at Home, two of the other chosen charities which are local to NIS’ main business regions.

NIS will be continuing to support the charities that serve the company’s local communities and look forward to getting involved with more fundraising events in 2012.
