Gill Marsden, Business Development and Project Delivery Director NIS Ltd
“Having worked closely with the National Skills Academy for Nuclear Manufacturing in the development of the TBNM, we are absolutely delighted to be the first organisation to host the course for 20 of our employees. Whilst we have 31 years of experience, manufacturing for the nuclear industry, this qualification is a fantastic opportunity for our skilled staff to widen and underpin their existing knowledge in preparation for the new nuclear build programme"
Recently launched the TBNM provides manufacturing organisations looking to gain contracts from the nuclear new build projects across the UK, with an introduction to expectations required for working on nuclear contracts in terms of knowledge, quality and behaviours.
Developed specifically for the manufacturing community by manufacturers and nuclear employers, the course provides an understanding of what differentiates nuclear from other industries.
The training is aimed at foundation level and is equally suited to new entrants to manufacturing, as well as long standing employees. The course will be of benefit to employees at all levels, but will be of particular benefit to product designers, those involved in manufacture, inspection, testing, sales, procurement or project management.
As the name suggests the course is divided into three key areas;
Basic Nuclear Awareness, the history of the nuclear industry and its culture,
Basic Nuclear Quality, covers nuclear quality requirements,
Basic Nuclear Behaviours, covering the standards of behaviour expected.
