NIS Ltd further increases welding capability with EN ISO 3834
Having achieved EN 1090 Execution class 3 early this year we are delighted to continue to increase our welding capability by achieving EN ISO 3834.
This accreditation is achieved for compliance to the ‘production and implementation of written procedures’, as well as the actual ‘qualification of welding procedures’.
The addition of this sought after certification brings an increased international recognition as a provider of high-quality products and offers further benefits to our clients. Our proficient workforce are renown in the industry for their quality and 3834 further enhances this with improved welding excellence which decreases quality defects, lowers maintenance cost and minimises rework.
This is the latest in a series of improvements and investments that NIS are making to ensure we are ready to capitalize on the anticipated growth in many of our markets, specifically nuclear new build, and to accommodate our increasing order book, particularly in the field of complex stainless and aluminium fabrications.
Other significant milestones achieved in 2015 include:
- Achievement of EN 1090 Execution class 3.
- Participation in the Civil Nuclear Sharing in Growth programme, - One of only 10 UK companies to secure a place on this 4 year intensive business support programme with the primary purpose of making manufacturers globally competitive.
- Expansion to our Welding expertise with the appointment of two junior weld engineers and the recruitment of four more apprentices.
