NIS Environmental Policy Statement

NIS provides a complete turnkey capability from front-end engineering services on manufacturing processes or production engineering issues, through feasibility studies, design, and development to manufacture, installation and commissioning.

NIS are totally committed to the care of the environment and this goal will be constantly achieved at all levels through the operation of an environmental management system which will be appropriate to the nature, scale and environmental impact of our activities, our products and services, in line with BS EN ISO 14001: 2000. It will be maintained by a regular series of internal audits, an annual management review and independent external audits by recognised bodies and in some instances by our customers themselves.

An environmental management system manual has been produced, reflecting the aims of senior management and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and prevention of pollution where appropriate, that includes procedures to ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation and regulations and any other requirements to which the company subscribes.

Procedures are being put in place to provide the framework for setting and reviewing environmental objectives and targets, based on a systematic process of evaluation by assigning values to frequency and severity in both normal and abnormal (or emergency) conditions.

This policy is reviewed, documented, implemented and communicated to all employees and is available to the public and any interested parties on request.

In pursuance of this policy, NIS will conform to ISO 14001 which will be linked with the existing ISO 9001 management system.

The Managing Director is ultimately responsible for the operation of the environmental management system within the company. In recognising the importance of environmental management the company has appointed a management representative who has the responsibility and authority delegated to him for all matters pertaining to the environmental management system.
