NIS are proud of the continued high standards of Health and Safety practised by its staff both on NIS premises and also on clients’.
NIS views the safety of the personnel and those working with the company as of primary importance and all employees work to the highest safety levels as standard. To ensure all workers are kept up to date on Health and Safety issues, NIS Health and Safety Policy is continually re-evaluated to ensure that new skills, tooling, machinery, procedures, etc. are documented and employees training updated.
NIS Health & Safety Policy
1.1 The Company considers that none of its activities is more important than the health
and safety of its employees, its contractors or the general public.
1.2 As a minimum the Company will comply with all relevant legislation. Where reasonably practicable it will set more stringent safety standards than those required by law.
Both of the above achievements reflect the effort and commitment of all NIS employees to ensure the health, safety and welfare of colleagues and clients.

1.3The Company will:
1.3.1 ensure that its operations are performed and can be seen to be performed safely;
1.3.2 endeavour to prevent accidents and to minimise the consequences of any accident which may occur.
1.4 The Company will delegate an appropriate level of authority on safety matters to managers.
1.5 The Company will:
1.5.1 ensure that there are effective procedures for consultation on health and safety matters with representatives of the Company’s employees;
and
1.5.2 ensure that there are satisfactory arrangements for consultation with appropriate external representatives on health and safety matters, which may be of concern to the population in the vicinity of the works.
1.6 The Company will make available to its workforce, the general public and their representatives such information as is appropriate in relation to their health and safety and to the protection of the environment including any event or incident which is deemed to be of possible concern to them.
1.7 In order to move towards a system of self-regulation, the Company will continue to develop, implement and maintain a structured Safety Management System.
1.8 Compliance with all aspects of this Health and Safety Policy will be subject to audit at all levels of the Company and over all activities.
1.9 This Policy comes into force with immediate effect and supersedes all previous statements. The details of the implementation of this Policy are set out in Appendix 1 - Policy Implementation.
