We have the ability to select the most appropriate supplier and model, based on the reach required to carry out the specific task, and the mass of the end effector and/or the component to be handled. The requirements of the working environment are also taken into account, which can range from clean room to foundry.
In addition to the above 6 axis articulated arm robots, gantry systems using modular components (e.g .Güdel), have been designed and constructed where a larger work envelope is required.
Applications have included welding, plasma cutting, machine tending, press loading, dip moulding, laser drilling, small component assembly and general handling tasks. Most projects involve the design and manufacture a gripper or end effector to suit a particular task, but NIS’s capability extends well beyond this to include vision systems, and in particular, complex PLC controlled special purpose equipment working in conjunction with the robot.
NIS’s ability to include extensive bespoke ancillary equipment within a robotic cell is facilitated by our experienced in house design team, which embraces all aspects of specialist mechanical design and control hardware and software design.
